1 Month Old Already!!!

It's so hard to believe that Landon turned 1 month old yesterday!! This past month has flown by...i never truly understood the meaning of the phrase "they grow up so fast" until now.  Landon is already wearing 3 month clothes and is quickly outgrowing those!! I didn't realize how much he had actually grown until I cleared out his newborn/0-3 month onsies and thought how in the world did he ever fit in these??!! Scott started back to school last week, which was a hard adjustment for all of us.  We got so used to spending so much time together snuggled in our little burrow.  Landon and I are making the transition with Scott and can't wait for him to graduate in May!! Both sets of grandparents came up to spend some quality time with their grandson and gave Scott and I a chance to get to the gym and spend some time together.  As expected, they have all taken very well to each other...and its official Scott and I are no longer the ones they come to visit :)   It brings tears to our eyes to see our parents interacting with our son...it feels like we are able to glimpse back in time to see how they were with us as babies. We have already taken Landon out to eat a few times. His 1st outing was with Scott's parents to Peppers in Canandaigua.  We felt like we needed them there as backup just in case he started screaming lol...but he was great and slept the whole time.  We went back to Peppers with my parents and he was great again.  It's funny looking back at how new everything felt and something so simple as going out to eat or grocery shopping could be so daunting.  We definitely are in a groove now and feel more confident taking him out and about. We were so excited when Landon's umbilical cord fell all the way off because he got to go in his whirlpool tub we bought him. He absolutely loves his tub time...and we love it too! We use Johnson's Bedtime Bubble Bath, and he sleeps so well afterwards. :) We've probably taken 1000 pictures already, but here are a few from the fun we've had with him over the past month.  

Sleep hiccuping

Trish had just fed Landon and we put him in his crib for the evening while we were going to enjoy a movie night in the living room.  Like good parents we had the baby monitor out there with us to listen for cries.  About half-way through the movie we thought we heard something briefly then it stopped.  We listened more intently and heard it again.  So we paused the movie and went in to check on him and this is what we saw. :-)

It was such a beautiful day yesterday for being the 6th of January... about 55 that we decided to take Landon and his stroller out for a spin around the block.  I think he was mostly oblivious to the whole thing but Trish and I sure enjoyed it.

And Landon made 3...Its so hard to believe that he has finally arrived and just in the nick of time for the New Year.  My parents, brother, and aunt & uncle came up to ring in the New Year with us in the hospital. Our night was complete with hats,(silent) noisemakers and a Sparkling Grape Juice toast at midnight.  This was in lieu of our yearly tradition of traveling to Greek Peak Ski Resort for the New Year's Eve bash there.  We had a great time and really appreciated everyone coming up to help Landon celebrate in style!! :) We had such an amazing stay in the hospital and at times felt like we were on vacation with our every need/wish being catered to.  Scott's favorite professor, Susan, was our childbirth instructor and helped us out greatly in the delievery process. She also took pictures to help document this momentous occassion, and even stayed 3 hours after her shift to help out with the delievery!! She is an incredibly seasoned nurse and we absolutely love her! She will from now on be referred to as Aunt Susan!!! :) Scott has done a great job in documenting the pregnancy up until now and just showed me how to post things, so we will both be trying to make contributions to the blog.  We will do our best in between midnight feedings and diaper changes to let everyone know how the 3 of us are adjusting to our new roles as parents and how Landon is liking life outside the womb :) xoxo 

 

 

He's Finally Here!!!

The moment that Trish and I have been preparing for and anticipating for the last 9 months Landon David Kopatz finally arrived on December 30th 2011 at 9:05PM.  He was 7lbs 12oz and 21in long. Isn't he so cute!!!
